The Sunday Scorecard: Six Metrics for a Fuller Life
A weekly check-in to nudge your life in the right direction.
Imagine you’re sitting in front of a huge monitor, your name at the top of a PowerPoint slide, with six categories: Health, Growth, Career, Social, Wealth, and Leisure.
Every Sunday night, you glance at each category and give it a number from 0–10 — not to chase perfection, but to track momentum. You are your own director: you can’t manage what you don’t measure.
Health
When your body and mind are in sync, everything else runs smoother. Maybe you sprained your ankle and all you can do is push-ups, meditate for five minutes, or practice breath-work. Perhaps you ate something green, went to bed early, or took a walk around the block. You’re scoring motion, not perfection.
Growth
Growth is any deliberate stretch — mental, emotional, or creative. It doesn’t happen by accident; it takes practice, patience, and a willingness to look a little foolish. You could be learning a piano piece that trips you up, mixing new spices in the kitchen and discovering a flavor you’ve never tasted, or reading a challenging book that bruises your brain. Every stumble is proof you’re alive, not coasting on autopilot.
Career
More than a job title, your career score measures whether talking about your work sparks something in you. This week you might have been stuck on a dreary report just to keep your job, yet updated your résumé, reached out to a mentor, or sketched the first draft of your side project. One email, one outline, one draft — each step counts toward work that truly lights you up.
Social
Your weekly social score tracks genuine connection, not just interactions. You might have called or messaged a friend or family member, shared a meal phone-free while laughing together or simply listening, or joined an activity that brought you closer to others. Score based on the depth and presence of those moments, not the quantity.
Wealth
Money is just numbers, but managing those numbers gives you freedom. Perhaps you canceled a useless subscription, saved or invested some money, kept track of grocery spending, or logged expenses in a simple ledger. Shining a light on your cash flow helps you steer it.
Leisure
Recharge with activities that make time vanish and spark genuine joy: travel, music, reading, nature, rollerblading, snowboarding, clay-pigeon shooting — whatever brings you alive. These moments fuel everything else.
These six buckets — Health, Growth, Career, Social, Wealth, and Leisure — are your weekly blueprint. Score them not to judge yourself, but to notice where you are and where you’re headed. You don’t need to be perfect. You just need to be in motion.
